this past sunday, i joined a friend at bbq garden in district 1 for a “regga party” hosted by a vietnamese death metal group called black infinity. it was the perfect setting: mosaic tiled table-tops, succulent bbq lamb cutlets, great music, dancing toddlers, free beer and a really mixed crowd of hip expats and uber-hip vietnamese. my friend hang was reminded of barcelona. i had flashbacks of a beer garden in chicago on a warm afternoon in june.
ah, good times.
last wednesday, on the heels of obama’s victory speech and feelings of utter elation, shock, and relief, i decided that i needed to seize the theme of change and apply it to my own life. that afternoon i charged into my boss’ office and declared that i was quitting! it was an emotional culmination to weeks of misery, doubt, restlessness, stress, and sleep deprivation.
ah, bad times.
luckily, my boss didn’t accept my resignation, made a couple *what i like to call* concessions, and i changed my mind :)
i cant make up my mind on whether i love it or hate it. or what it is.
